The Story

Meet Chris.  He's a former Army Officer and now owner and founder of Bucket of Bread LLC.  Probably like you, he has always been an avid cook and baker.  Now he just wants to share with others and try to do some good in the world.

Bucket of Bread LLC is a middle of the night idea, brought on through a 3 a.m. dream, which turned out to be unlike anything previously done in the thousands of years of baking dough into bread. Well, almost, the University of Wisconsin School of Business conducted MBA-level market research only to discover what was once old is now new with Bucket of Bread's repackaged twist on baking with doughs!

The concept of Bucket of Bread Brand Dough Mixes, made with certified organic ingredients, is simple at the core.   The products are super simple to use, last up to 2 whole weeks in your fridge, and can be used in so many different easy recipes.  One bucket makes around 4 pounds of dough!  Collected donations and a portion of all profits go towards efforts combating food insecurity in America.  Buckets ship to anywhere in the USA.

Plan to Action

This original idea quickly led to communication with the Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.  There, a business plan was drafted, location secured, renovations made to pass state health code regulatory inspections, ingredients and buckets ordered, obtained a license, insured it all, and began producing buckets for farmers markets and online orders.

Self-funding (bootstrapping) the creation and establishment of the Bucket of Bread company framework with functional products people love was an essential first step.  Before asking complete strangers to offer their hard-earned dollars through crowd sourcing, Chris felt the need to be fair on his end.  He felt an obligation and responsibility to show customers a working product people seem to really love.  He wants to offer something of quality with more potential than just a middle of the night dream.

Now, Bucket of Bread is ready to put out a larger message to a larger audience.  Welcome to a new chapter!  Please choose to put Bucket of Bread to work for you.  Grab a bucket, stay in touch, and watch the chance to make a difference turn into reality.

Sustainability Taken Seriously

Buckets: Made from 100% recyclable High Density Poly Ethylene plastics. HDPE plastic is the most environmentally stable of all plastics – giving off no harmful fumes into the environment. Manufacturing HDPE plastics requires only a fraction of the energy required to produce steel from iron ore, further contributing to its classification of being Eco-friendly.

Cardboard Boxes:

From the sourcing of materials to the printing of designs, packaging follows eco-friendly practices to cut down on waste. These boxes have up to 65% recycled content. This helps reduce the need to cut down trees.

Polypropylene Bags:

These are still recyclable; however, you may need to check with your local recycling authorities for procedures.
